FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

General Publishing Questions

  • Do you work with first-time authors?

Yes, absolutely. Many of our clients are publishing their first book. We take a consultative, step-by-step approach to guide you through the process with care and clarity.

  • Do I keep the rights to my book?

Yes. You retain full copyright and control over your work. We are a service provider, not a publisher in the traditional sense—everything remains yours.

  • Do you accept all genres?

We work across most genres including fiction, memoir, non-fiction, poetry, and hybrid works. If your project is particularly niche, feel free to contact us and we’ll let you know if it’s a good fit.

  • Can I pick and choose services?

You can absolutely choose the services that suit your needs. We’ll tailor our quote and workflow to your project, whether you need a full publishing solution or just one element, like cover design or proofreading.

Editing & Formatting

  • What’s the difference between copywriting and proofreading

Copywriting (or line editing) improves structure, flow and readability, while proofreading is the final polish—checking grammar, punctuation and consistency. We offer both, depending on where your manuscript is at.

  • Do I need to format my manuscript before sending it to you?

No. As a service provider, this is something we can format for you.

  • Can you format for both print and Kindle?

Yes. We format manuscripts for paperback printing and create a separate version optimised for Kindle (or other eBook platforms), if required.

Cover Design

  • Do you use templates for covers?

No. All our covers are bespoke, created by professional designers based on your book’s genre, tone and audience. We never use templates or stock-only solutions.

  • Can I give input into my cover design?

Yes. You retain full copyright and control over your work. We are a service provider, not a publisher in the traditional sense—everything remains yours.

  • Will the cover fit my printer’s specifications?

Yes. We tailor the design to match your chosen print size, page count and printer requirements—whether we’re handling your printing or not.

Printing & Distribution

  • What’s the minimum number of books I can print?

Our short-run printing starts from as few as 25 copies. We also offer bulk printing for launches or retail supply, and print-on-demand options if you prefer ongoing availability.

  • Do you deliver internationally?

Yes. We print and ship to the UK, Ireland, North America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. If you’re based elsewhere, we’ll discuss delivery options based on your location.

  • How long does printing take?

Once files are approved, printing typically takes 10–14 working days, depending on volume and destination. We’ll confirm timelines as part of your quote.

Amazon & Metadata

  • Can you publish my book on Amazon for me?

Yes. We offer a full Amazon & Kindle Submission service, where we set up your title, format your files, and guide you through the KDP platform.

  • Do I still own my Amazon account and royalties?

Yes. We help you set up your own KDP account, so all royalties are paid directly to you and you retain full control.

  • What is metadata, and why does it matter?

Metadata includes your book’s title, subtitle, description, keywords, categories, and more. It’s how retailers and readers discover your book online. We help you craft effective metadata for discoverability and sales.

  • Do I need my own ISBN?

No, we can supply one. However, if you prefer to purchase and register your own (especially if you’re using your own imprint), we’re happy to guide you through the process.
